Adriatic League, Season 2009-10
|
|
| The Adriatic League enters its ninth edition and has become as unpredictable as ever. As many as 13 teams will do their best to dethrone defending champion Partizan, which has dominated the competition since 2007. Partizan lost some of its best players, but inked Aleks Maric and brought back Milt Palacio to play alongside Jan Vesely, Slavko Vranes and Aleksandar Rasic and stay competitive as ever. Union Olimpija, Hemofarm Stada, Zadar and Cibona are the main outsiders to beat Partizan. Cibona, which reached the title game last season, renewed its roster with Marko Tomas, Bojan Bogdanovic, Dalibor Bagaric, Jamont Gordon and Antonio Graves. Hemofarm managed to keep its main stars such as Milan Macvan, Stefan Markovic, Boban Marjanovic and Miljan Pavkovic. Zadar counts on Rok Stipcevic, Vladimer Boisa, Trent Plaisted and Toni Prostan to lead the team this season. Meanwhile, Olimpija got much stronger with marquee additions like Sani Becirovic, Uros Slokar, Nemanja Aleksandrov, Gasper Vidmar and Matt Walsh. Buducnost m:tel, with Goran Jeretin and Cedomir Vitkovac, Red Star, featuring Elmedin Kikanovic, Tadija Dragicevic and Vladimir Stimac, and FMP, with Dejan Musli and Dragan Labovic, may also fight for a final four spot. |
