Croatian League Finals, Game 3: June 9, 2007 |
Zadar is just one win away from winning the Croatian League title by downing defending champion Cibona 87-95 in Game 3 in Zagreb on Saturday afternoon. As such, Zadar leads the series 2-1 and is in a good position to lift its second Croatian League trophy in 3 years. Carl English led the winners with 27 points. Frano Colak added 15, Jure Lalic had 14 while Pankracije Barac got 10 for Zadar. Barisa Krasic had 24 points for Cibona, Davor Kus added 15, Chris Warren 12 and Marton Bader 10. Kus, Warren and a very effective Krasic allowed Cibona to get a 51-47 halftime edge. Cibona boosted its margin to 66-55 midway through the third quarter but Zadar found its usual go-to guy in English, who stepped up right when it mattered. Zadar got within 68-64 after 30 minutes, while English got some help from Rok Stipcevic, Lalic and Todor Gecevski to steal the home court advantage and bounce back from its initial loss in the best-of-five series.
