Croatian League second phase, Game 7: April 21-22, 2007
Davor Kus - Cibona Cibona and Zadar keep tying atop the Slovenian League standings, each with a 6-1 record. Cibona had to battle harder than expected to beat cross-town rivals Zagreb 96-105 on the road on Sunday. Davor Kus and Marin Rozic led 6 Cibona players in double digits, each with 15 points. Luksa Andric added 14, Chris Warren had 13, Andrew Wisniewski 11 and Barisa Krasic 10. Zagreb got within 77-79 but a 3-14 run allowed Cibona to seal the outcome. Meanwhile, Zadar did not find much trouble to down Kvarner Novi Resort 87-68 at home. Carl English led the winners with 16 points. Jure Lalic added 15 while Juby Johnson and Todor Gecevski each had 14 in an easy home win for Zadar, that led 36-35 at halftime but boosted its margin to 67-54 after 30 minutes to avoid troubles in the final period. Split is third at 5-2 by topping Cedevita 89-81 at home also on Saturday. Hrvoje Peric had 20 points for Split, Andrija Stipanovic added 18 and Erick Barkley 14 for Split, that held off a wild Cedevita rally in the final minutes to add a key win. Finally, Borik PuntaMika beat Svjetlost Brod 74-82 on the road behind 25 points from Ante Devic and 24 from Roko Ciklic.
